[Class 75 (iv).] In a vehicle, signal, or like lamp, two or more lamp elements, each comprising a light source 8 adjustable along the axis of a reflector 12, a surrounding drum 13, and a plano-convex lens 16, are mounted within a single casing 4, provided in front of the lamp elements, with a flat translucent surface or screen 18 traversed by a wiper arm 20 mounted on a centrally mounted rotatable shaft 19, which is driven by an electric motor 22 mounted at the rear of the casing. The motor and gear box 21 are carried by a platform 23. The lamp bulbs are adjusted by means of the screw-rods 9. The drums 13 are reflecting. The surface or screen 18 may have differently coloured sections by use of coloured glass or application of sectors or circles of coloured translucent material. The plate 15, carrying the lenses 16, and the surface or screen 18 are formed into a single unit movable as a whole. According to the Provisional Specification, a lamp comprises a tapering reflecting drum with a light source and a concave reflector at its narrower end and a plano-convex lens at its wider end, and in front of the lens a flat transparent coloured or colourless surface which is traversed by a wiper. The reflector has two openings, one at the back and one in the side for the passage of the stem of the lamp bulb. For signal lights, two or more such lamps may be used. The movement of the wipers may be straight across or curved. |
