<p>The present invention relates to a device for measuring the thickness of skin folds that is instrumented digitally to read the thickness of skin folds and provided with capability for wireless communication with a remote communication station (e.g. personal computer), with a computer application that incorporates a database. The device implemented uses operating principles different from those existing on the market, especially the use of a member (11) generating a constant force installed in the handle (12A) of the body thereof, the main function of which is to apply a constant pressure to the cutaneous folds to be measured at the pressing faces of the heads (1A and 1B). A further feature is the adjustment of the separation limit between heads (1A and B), which may be achieved jointly by the use of a high centre-to-centre for the jaw articulation axes, by compensation for the lever arm variation by a cam, by the constant force generator and by the head-orientation mechanism, which guarantees a constant application of pressure over the entire measurement range.</p> |
