METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ESTABLISHING A GROUP CALL

A method, device, and system for establishing a group call among a plurality of communication devices (115, 125). A group call is initiated among at least some of the plurality of communication devices. Each communication device uses a unicast communication link to participate in the group call. One or more broadcast or multicast parameters is computed during the group call. A subset of communication devices is identified based on the broadcast or multicast parameters. The identified subset of communications devices is switched to a broadcast or multicast communication link during the group call.
