<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element capable of suppressing the occurrence of a light leakage current even when an auxiliary capacitor electrode is overlapped with a thin film transistor. <P>SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display element, an auxiliary capacitor electrode 11 made of metal is arranged on the upper layer side of a thin film transistor 8 so as to be overlapped with the thin film transistor 8. The thin film transistor 8 includes an etching prevention layer 24 made of an insulating material, which is arranged on a semiconductor layer 21 so as to be in contact with the semiconductor layer 21, and a gate electrode G which is arranged such that the semiconductor layer 21 is interposed between the etching prevention layer 24 and the gate electrode G. The auxiliary capacitor electrode 11 in a region overlapped with the gate electrode G of the thin film transistor 8 is formed such that a length of the auxiliary capacitor electrode 11 in a direction along a channel length direction of the thin film transistor 8 is shorter than that of the gate electrode G in the direction and is longer than that of the etching prevention layer 24 in the direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
