The method involves setting a stationary operation of an internal combustion engine (2). Two dosing valve-groups are formed, on which the dosing valves (V1-V4) are distributed in a combination. The dosing valve-groups are controlled such that each dosing valve-group determines the same reference-groups-injection quantity for an injection process. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an exhaust gas treatment device with a control unit; and (2) a computer program for executing a testing method.
