<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emission system capable of emitting light after light emission from a light source ended even if the time for exposure to external light is not enough, and to provide a portable device equipped with the same. <P>SOLUTION: The light emission system comprises a luminescent layer 3 containing a luminous material that emit light by ultraviolet light and a light source 1 that irradiates the luminescent layer with the ultraviolet light. This system may further include a coloring layer 4 having permeability above the luminescent layer 3.
