<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain good fixing characteristics while consuming a small amount of a fixing solution and suppressing toner image disturbance in a wet fixing system applying the fixing solution to a toner image on a recording medium to fix the toner image. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing device includes a bubble fixing unit 8 functioning in a manner so that a bubble type fixing solution containing a softening agent that softens a resin by dissolving or swelling at least a part of the resin is applied to a recording medium 9 where a toner image which is formed by using a toner containing resin fine particles containing a resin and a coloring agent on a toner image carrier is transferred from the toner image carrier, and thereby the toner is softened by the fixing solution to be fixed onto the recording medium. The fixing device comprises pre-transfer fixing solution application means 18 for applying the fixing solution containing a softening agent onto a recording medium prior to transferring a toner image thereto. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
