<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking mechanism for a transmission configured to reduce the number of parts constituting a parking mechanism included in a conventional transmission is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The parking mechanism for a transmission with a planetary gear mechanism for speed changing and outputting the rotation of a driving force source (20), includes a plurality of friction elements (33, 34) which change a speed ratio of the planetary gear mechanism by being engaged or released; and an engaging unit which engages the friction elements (33, 34).
