<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate device for a throw-in type medal slot, which effectively and easily prevents overflow in a medal selector even when a large amount of medals are input at a time, in a medal throw-in type medal game machine. <P>SOLUTION: A medal passage 52 is arranged in a path for introducing a large amount of medals which are collectively thrown-in to the medal selector 30 in a case body 10. The medal passage 52 includes a medal discharge port for forming a path that does not pass through the medal selector 30. A shutter is arranged, which opens/closes the medal discharge port and is opened when a power source is turned off. When the power source is turned on and the medal is input, the shutter is opened so as to prevent too many medals from staying in the medal selector 30.
