ADAPTIVE FRAME RATE CONTROL FOR VIDEO IN A RESOURCE LIMITED SYSTEM

Methods of adaptive frame rate control are provided for compressed video where resources are limited by either network or CPU characteristics. The methods include the determination of the type of compressed video frames to be transmitted or decoded and utilizing the principles of video compression and networking in order to limit the perceived loss of quality of the rendered video to the end user.
