<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wasting of regenerative energy recovered by traveling a vehicle on a downhill road R2. <P>SOLUTION: A downhill information detector 16 detects downhill information including a distance L and a gradient (angle θ) of a downhill part R2 present in a route selected by setting a destination to a car navigation device 15, and the amount of regenerative energy predicted to be obtained when a hybrid vehicle 1 travels on the downhill part R2 is predicted. The amount of charge of a battery 6 is grasped by a battery state-of-charge grasping means 18.
