<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for suppressing speed at which an ink cartridge is inserted into a cartridge installing unit and hardly causing variation of a positional relationship between an access unit of the ink cartridge and an accessed unit of the ink cartridge installing unit. <P>SOLUTION: The ink cartridge 30 includes: a body 31 having a second projection 46 disposed at an offset position with respect to a center line 54; an ink chamber 36 provided inside the body 31; an engaging unit 43 provided to the body 31 and physically related to the cartridge installing unit 110 during an installation process; a rib 48; a detected piece 49; and an ink supply port 71. The cartridge installing unit 110 includes: a guide groove 109 for guiding the body 31 of the ink cartridge 30; a lock member 145 physically related with an engaging unit 43, the rib 48, the detected piece 49 and the ink supply port 71; optical sensors 114, 116 and an ink needle 122; and a slide member 135 for producing biasing force in a removal direction 55. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
