<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight vacuum heat insulating material that is superior in heat insulating performance and handleability during manufacturing, prevents scattering of fine fiber, and has superior heat sealability. <P>SOLUTION: In the vacuum heat insulating material 1, a laminate 2 is stored in an external wrapping material 3, and its inside is decompressed. The laminate 2 is made of synthetic resin whose pencil hardness is 2H or higher, and is constituted by synthetic resin monofilament threads with a diameter of 10-100 μm. A second synthetic resin monofilament string 6 where a plurality of second synthetic resin monofilament threads 6a are arranged in parallel at intervals of 1-20 mm is stacked on a first synthetic resin monofilament string 5 where a plurality of first synthetic resin monofilament threads 5a are arranged in parallel at intervals of 1-20 mm.
