<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device having a simple and inexpensive configuration and capable of carefully and smoothly achieving economy running which is economical and reduces fuel consumption. <P>SOLUTION: In the vehicle control device for achieving fuel-saving traveling of a vehicle, when economy running control to achieve fuel-saving traveling of the vehicle is performed, an actual accelerator opening based on actual operation of an accelerator pedal by a driver is acquired, and an economy running accelerator opening to achieve fuel-saving traveling is set by putting limitation on the acquired actual accelerator opening. In accordance with the economy running accelerator opening, fuel supply control of an internal combustion engine is executed.
