<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush body preventing the conductivity of bristle bundles formed by a plurality of core-in-sheath filaments from decreasing, and to provide a toothbrush including the brush body. <P>SOLUTION: The brush body 20 of the toothbrush 1 includes bristle bundles 30, each formed by a plurality of filaments 40. Each filament 40 includes a core, which contains a conductive material, and an insulative sheath, which covers a side of the core, and the core projects out of the sheath at both ends of the filament 40. A basal portion 31 that is one end of the bristle bundles 30 is a portion at which a plurality of cores are fused, solidified, and integrated with one another, and a distal portion 32 that is the other end of the bristle bundles 30 is a portion at which the plurality of cores are not integrated.
