<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device that outputs an internal signal without a connection terminal dedicated to debug. <P>SOLUTION: An operation monitoring system includes the semiconductor device having one or more connection terminals connected to devices, and an information collecting apparatus for collecting state information showing an operation state of the semiconductor device from the semiconductor device. The semiconductor device includes: one or more functional blocks performing predetermined operations; an internal signal control unit for acquiring state information of one functional block; and an output converting unit for receiving a signal from the internal signal control unit and performing predetermined processing; and output control means for controlling an output method of the output converting unit, which are provided between connection terminals of the functional block and an external device. The semiconductor device outputs the state information of the functional block to the information collecting apparatus via the output converting unit from the connection terminal.
