<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of effectively suppressing thermal energy discharged externally to the device by heat convection and heated air flow. <P>SOLUTION: In a housing 28 of a fixing device 110, a conveying-out port 24 is arranged at an upper part of the housing 28, and a conveying-in port 26 is arranged at a lower part at an opposite side of the housing. A blocking mechanism 45 is arranged at the conveying-out port 24, and a blocking mechanism 41 is arranged at the conveying-in port 26. The blocking mechanism 45 includes heat insulative rotary rollers 46 and 48. An elastic roller made of an elastic material is used for the heat insulative rotary roller 48, and a roller having a higher hardness than the elastic roller is used for the insulative rotary roller 46.
