Molybdenum, bismuth and iron containing multimetal oxide mass (I) is new. Molybdenum, bismuth and iron containing multimetal oxide mass of formula (Mo 1 2Bi aCo bFe cK dSi eO x) (I), is new. a : 0.5-1; b : 7-8.5; c : 1.5-3; d : 0-0.15; e : 0-2.5; and x : a number determined by valency and frequency of oxygen element in (I). Provided that: A = 12-b-1.5c and A is equal to 0.5-1.5; a/A is equal to 0.2-1.3; b/c is equal to 2.5-9. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a shell catalyst comprising a shaped molded body and a shell situated on outer surface of the shaped molded body, made of at least one multimetal oxide mass; (2) a complete catalyst molded body, whose active mass is at least one multi-metal oxide; (3) preparing the multimetal oxide mass; and (4) a method (A) of heterogeneously catalyzed gas phase oxidation of 3-6 carbon atoms containing alkane, alkanol, alkanal, alkenes and/or alkenal over a catalyst bed, where the catalyst bed comprises at least one multimetal oxide material, at least a catalyst or at least one product by above method.
