PURPOSE: A method of manufacturing a metal matrix compound containing networked carbon nanotubes or carbon fibers and a compound manufactured by the same are provided to secure superior electric and thermal conductivities because carbon nanotubes are dispersed on the surface of metal base powder while being partially inserted into the metal base powder. CONSTITUTION: A method of manufacturing a metal matrix compound containing networked carbon nanotubes or carbon fibers comprises steps of: preparing carbon nanotubes or carbon fiber and metal base powder, mixing the carbon nanotubes or carbon fiber with the metal base powder, manufacturing composite powder in which the carbon nanotubes or carbon fiber is dispersed on the surface of the metal base powder while being partially inserted in the metal base powder, mixing the composite powder with additional metal base powder, charging the composite powder in a vessel and pressurizing the vessel to create a semi-product, and hot-forming the semi-product.
