Viscose artificial silk crape thread is obtained from the bobbins on which the parallel filaments from the spinning nozzles are wound, by subjecting the wound bobbins to bathing or sizing with false colour, drying, subjecting the thread to the two usual high twisting operations, or to a single high twisting operation, and then winding on to bobbins or spools. Both right and left hand crape twisting may be obtained. The sizing may contain soaps, glycerine, linseed or other oil, or feculae. Specification 408,815, [Group IX], is referred to.
