<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manganese dry cell having excellent storage characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: In a manganese dry cell: a power generation element is housed in a bottomed cylindrical zinc can 4 having one open end; a resin sealing body 5 is arranged in the opening of the zinc can 4; a heat-shrinkable resin tube 8 covers from the peripheral part on the external surface at the bottom of the zinc can 4 to the peripheral part of the resin sealing body 5; and both peripheral parts are caulked by a metal outer can 10.
