<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high efficiency audio amplifier system. <P>SOLUTION: A high efficiency amplifier system comprises: a first output stage configured to output a first amplified signal amplified by the first output stage; a second output stage coupled in parallel with the first output stage, the second output stage configured to output a second amplified signal amplified by the second output stage; and a pulse width modulator operable to control a plurality of switches included in the first and second output stages, the pulse width modulator further operable to balance an output power of each of the first and second output stages based on a signal indicative of a current output from each of the first and second output stages.
