Process for producing a prepolymerised metallocene catalyst system comprising a step of prepolymerising in a continuously operating prepolymerising reactor a solid metallocene catalyst system with at least one C 2 to C 10 -alpha-olefin monomer at an average residence time of the solid metallocene catalyst system of more than 30 minutes to 90 min at a temperature within the range of 5 to less than 25°C, in order to obtain a prepolymerised metallocene catalyst system comprising of from 60 to 500 g polyolefin/ g catalyst, the prepolymerised metallocene catalyst system itself and its use.
