PURPOSE: A method for preventing the overheating of a heater for a food waste disposer and a method for judging the discharge time of food waste are provided to prevent the internal temperature of a drying furnace from being suddenly increased when a heater is operated. CONSTITUTION: A method for preventing the overheating of a heater for a food waste disposer is as follows. A heater is turned on(S100), and outputs a high-level heater driving signal(S110). When the high-level retaining time of the heater driving signal passes a first reference time(S130), the heater is turned off(S140). After a second reference time passes(S150), the heater is turned on again(S160). After a third reference time passes(S170), the heater is turned off again(S180). If a temperature difference of a drying furnace between the second turn on time and the initial turn-off time is under a first reference temperature, the level of the heater driving signal is changed to a low-level.
