PURPOSE: A perpendicular fall for a continuous casting mold is provided to improve the quality of slab and to prevent the blasting accident of workpiece due to bulging. CONSTITUTION: A perpendicular fall for a continuous casting mold comprises a grid rib and a grid window. The grid rib forms an outer frame. A plurality of grid windows is penetrated inside the front and back surface of the grid rib in order to emit cooling water. The grid rib has one or more sides. The angular side of the grid rib is commonly included in two or more grid original outer frames. The grid window is tapered toward the center part from the upper part. The grid window is getting the shorter the closer to the lower part from the center part.
