<p>A vessel position simulation system is used onboard a host vessel 2. A processor is used to emulate a reference sensor signal of an object such as a simulated vessel 20, which could be stationary or moving, in proximity to the host vessel. A processor receives signals from the host vessel's navigation system and its dynamic positioning system 10, and emulates reference sensor signals from the emulated object. A user display interface 18 is configured to display information indicative of the relative positions of the host vessel and the emulated object. The processor updates the user display interface in real time based on signals received from the navigation system and/or the dynamic positioning system. The processor may receive emulation data related to the emulated object, such as heading speed and acceleration of the simulated vessel, and may update the information on the user display interface.</p> |
