PURPOSE: A method for controlling the sudden starting prevention device of an automatic transmission vehicle is provided to control a vehicle by sensing the operating state of a brake and manually controlling the brake. CONSTITUTION: A brake operation detection part(10) senses the operating state of a brake. A speed changing lever detecting part(20) senses the location of a speed changing lever. An acceleration pedal location detecting part senses the location of an acceleration pedal. An engine RPM(Revolution Per Minute) detecting part(40) senses engine RPM. A car speed detecting part senses the speed of a vehicle. A controller determines a sudden starting state of the vehicle by being inputted a sensing value of the brake operation detection part, the speed changing lever detecting part, the engine RPM detecting part, and the car speed detecting part and controls the engine RPM to an idle state.
