PURPOSE: A descaling apparatus is provided to cool a heated contact roller heated during removal of oxide by spraying cooling water to the contact roller. CONSTITUTION: A descaling apparatus comprises a driving unit, a rotating unit(20), and a contact unit(30). The rotating unit is rotated by the driving unit. The contact unit contacts oxides formed on the surface of a slab and is rotated by being coupled to the rotating unit. The contact unit comprises a support stand(31) which is coupled to the rotating unit, a contact roller(32) which is connected to the support stand and contacts the oxides, a roller motor which is coupled to the contact roller to rotate the contact roller, and a roller cooling device which sprays cooling water to the contact roller. A shock-absorbing member(35) is provided in the support stand in order to reduce impact applied to the slab when the contact roller contacts the oxides.
