<p>It is disclosed a method for managing power consumption in a communication network cooperating with a global manager, the communication network comprising a first network element and second network elements. The method comprises, at the global manager: determining a first threshold power and second threshold powers indicative of a maximum power absorbable by the first and second network elements; at the first network element: measuring a consumed power; receiving available powers of the second network elements; if the consumed power is higher than the first threshold power, checking whether the sum of the available powers is equal to or higher than a difference between the consumed power and the first threshold power and, in the affirmative, increasing the first threshold power by the difference, and requesting to one of the second network elements to reduce its second threshold power by an amount lower than or equal to the difference.</p> |
