<p>A ground fault detection system 200 for detecting ground faults in electrical subsea conductor lines 237, 239 includes first and second electrical conductor lines 221, 223 connecting an underwater load 207 to a current source 211 for normal operation, and first and second ground fault detection lines 225, 227 connecting the load to a voltage source 209 for testing. A line enable relay 205 switches between the ground fault detection lines and the normal conductor lines. A ground fault detection circuit 203 includes first and second resistors connected to the voltage source and the first and second ground fault detection lines, and a voltage detection device configured to detect the voltage at an output end of the first resistor. If the detected voltage does not equal the supply voltage 209 during the test, a ground fault in at least one of the conductor lines 237, 239 is determined.</p> |
