<p>The device has an energy-transfer element moving along a setting axis between starting and setting positions for transferring energy to a fastening element. A deceleration element (600) decelerates the energy-transfer element and comprises a stop element (610) made from metal i.e. steel. The stop element comprises a stop surface (620) for the energy-transfer element, and an impact-damping element (630) is made from elastomer, where mass of the damping element amounts to 15 percent of mass of the stop element.
