PURPOSE: A camera apparatus is provided to enable a user to capture image in a desired location by automatically controlling a shutter condition. CONSTITUTION: A photographing unit(38) captures a through image repetitively until the satisfaction of a shutter condition. When the shutter condition is satisfied, the photographing unit captures a recording image. A display unit(30) displays the captured through image. An area establishment unit(24) establishes an area about the display surface of the display unit. A face detection unit detects a face image from the through image. A decision unit controls the satisfaction of the shutter condition.
