The base (As) has an upper face (FS) for receiving a passenger and a lower face (FI) installed on an intermediate part (PIP) of a floor (PL) of a motor vehicle (V). The lower face defines a flat rigid storing surface to constitute extension of a rear part (PRP) of the floor when the base is turned and integrated to the floor with the upper face directed toward the intermediate part. A front part of the base is integrated with the intermediate part so as to allow turning of the base. An independent claim is also included for a seat for a motor vehicle, comprising a file.
