COMPOSITION FOR TREATING PRION DISEASE COMPRISING HIF-1α AGONIST

PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition and a veterinary composition containing HIF-1alpha agonist are provided to effectively suppress cell apoptosis and to enhance the expression of normal prion protein. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating prion diseases contains HIF-alpha agonist as an active ingredient. The composition is manufactured in the form for oral, parenteral, inhaling, or topical administration. The prion diseases include rachitis, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease(CJD), deformation CJD, iatrogenesis CJD, familial CJD, and randomicity CJD. A veterinary composition for preventing and treating prion diseases contains the HIF-1alpha agonist as an active ingredient.
