The invention relates to an expert system for the control of thermal systems. According to the invention, the expert system consists of a software component () loaded in a computer and a hardware component consisting of a parallel programmable interface () having the role of expanding the number of outputs available on the parallel standard interface of the computer, a digital-to-analogue conversion block () aiming at providing an output electric signal in proportion with the numerical expression received at the input, another analogue-to-digital block () aiming at providing a binary representation output number in proportion with the analogue quantity present at the input, and an analogue multiplexing block () allowing the reception of various electric signals on a single channel.
