The invention relates to relates to wheelchairs for handicapped persons. This vehicle for handicapped persons is made with the possibility of moving along staircases and represents a foldable wheelchair comprising a frame, front small rotatable wheels and rear driving wheels of bicycle type. The novel features are: the frame is made as the right half-frame and the left half-frame, rear cross-shaped supports are secured to the frame from the rear, and front cross-shaped supports are mounted on the right and the left half-frames with the use of movable cantilevers, the said front and rear cross-shaped supports being linked to the driving wheels by chain drives, a transformation mechanism is provided which is arranged in the lower part of the foldable wheelchair and consists of control levers, movable cantilevers, three draw bars, and retainers for fixing the wheelchair in its two states, which mechanism ensures control over the wheelchair transformation and the possibility for a handicapped person to change for another device. The technical effect consists in a maximum simplification of the wheelchair structure and the possibility of making the wheelchair mainly of standard components, the wheelchair versatility enabling movement over staircases having any non-uniform and even half-destroyed steps, an increase in the drive efficiency as well as its improved reliability and safety in operation. |
