The invention relates to a phase sequence indicator employed in determining the succession of phases in three-phase power supply. According to the invention, the device mainly comprises an assembly of three electromagnets having some windings () placed on some ferromagnetic cores () mounted on a ferromagnetic disc (), the windings () being star- or triangle-connected and being connected to the terminals of a power supply source to be checked, at the upper extremity of the three electromagnets there being placed a support () made of a transparent material on which there is fixed a cup () partially filled with water (), the so formed stator acting, by means of the electromagnetic field, upon a floating rotor consisting of a spherical brass enclosure () wherein a certain amount of ferrofluid is introduced while, on the external surface there are applied one or several layers () of paraffin in admixture with a ferrofluid.
