PURPOSE: An array substrate for a wide view angle liquid crystal display apparatus and manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce the capacity of a storage capacitor by overlapping a pixel electrode with a common electrode. CONSTITUTION: A first common electrode is formed at a layer where a pixel electrode is located. A protection layer includes a common contact hole. The common contact hole exposes the one end of a first common electrode on the pixel electrode. A second common electrode(170) is connected to the first common electrode through the common contact hole. The second common electrode includes a first opening unit and a second opening unit.
