The device (3) has a threaded pipe (4) comprising an input (4a) and an output (4b) for a cable e.g. life line. A slide (5') comprising a cable twist shaping device is displaced parallely by the pipe using a screw (12), such that the slide provokes a tension on the cable. A roller disposed above the output displaces the slide towards the input by the pipe to provoke the tension on the cable, where axis of rotation of the roller is orthogonal to the axis of the pipe. The cable is pre-tensioned by an anti-return device (2) fixed in the front of the pipe.
