This application discloses liquid compositions for administration to a patient comprising midazolam and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein the pH of the composition is about 6 or higher and / or an advantageous carrier system is present, the composition comprises less than about 200 mg/ml cyclodextrin, and at least about 50 % of the midazolam is present in solution.
