Disclosed is a novel polymerizable azomethine compound that has a high ?n and is colorless. The compound is represented by formula I. P1 and P2 are polymerizable groups; m1 and m2 are integers from 1 to 10; R1 and R2 are alkyl groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxy groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxycarbonyl groups having 2 to 5 carbon atoms, acyloxy groups having 2 to 5 carbon atoms, acyl groups having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, amide groups having 2 to 5 carbon atoms, cyano groups, or halogen atoms; n1 and n2 are each an integer from 0 to 4; R3 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, Z1 and L1 are each a predetermined bivalent group; and n is 0, 1, or 2. |
