PURPOSE: A bidirectional shift register and an image display device using the same are provided to bi-directionally perform a stable shift operation by simplifying a unit register circuit without a transistor. CONSTITUTION: A bidirectional shift register(30) outputs a pulse from a plurality of unit register circuits with forward or backward shift order. The cascade connection of the unit register circuit has a main terminal, a leading dummy terminal, and a rear dummy terminal. A k-th unit register circuit includes a set circuit with a reference point of an H level, a reset circuit with a reference point of an L level, and a circuit which outputs a pulse by synchronizing a clock signal at the H level.
