A method for switching display modes of function keys is provided, which comprises: receiving an input operation of a user, generating a mode conversion command when the input operation is matched with a preset mode conversion operation, switching the display mode of function keys according to the mode conversion command. Accordingly, a terminal is also provided. It has the advantages that the method can enable the function keys to be switched among multiple display modes conveniently and rapidly, meet the requirements of users, and improve users' experiences.
