The exchanger (1) has an overflow device (6) to separate the condensate from the washing liquid. A pipeline is provided for discharging the condensate. A measuring point is provided for the diagnosis of volume in the pipeline. The pipeline for condensate is provided for forming a cycle of separating- and drying systems. An independent claim is also included for a method for the separation of condensate from humid exhaust air in direct exchange of the humid exhaust air with a washing liquid such as water.
