METHOD, EQUIPMENT AND OPTICAL LINE TERMINAL FOR RESTARTING OPTICAL NETWORK UNIT

A method, equipment and Optical Line Terminal (OLT) for restarting an Optical Network Unit are provided by the present invention. The method includes: an OLT sends a Physical Layer Operations Administration and Maintenance (PLOAM) message to an Optical Network Unit (ONU), the type of the message is marked as restarting, and the information, which indicates the ONU needing to be restarted, is carried; the ONU analyzes the message after receiving the PLOAM message, and if the type of the message is restarting, determines whether said ONU itself needs to be restarted according to the information that indicates the ONU needing to be restarted, if yes, then restart. The present invention provides a method for restarting the ONU using the PLOAM message, which is an expansion for the prior restarting method, and under the condition that ONUs are allocated dispersedly, the effective restarting method for the fault diagnosis and the fault treatment of ONU is provided, thus improving the efficiency of fault treatment and saving the labor and material resources for maintenance.
