FLAME-RETARDANT POLYBUTYLENE TEREPHTHALATE RESIN COMPOSITION AND INSULATION COMPONENT

Disclosed is a PBT resin composition that achieves a UL-94 flame retardation V-0 rating and also achieves temperature characteristics equivalent to or better than GWIT775°C for almost all test specimen thicknesses for insulation components. The essential components are: a mixture of (A) 100 parts by weight of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) resin (a1) or of both polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) resin (a1) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin (a2); (B) 10 to 25 parts by weight of a halogenated flame retardant; (C) 5 to 30 parts by weight of a flame retardant assistant; (D) 20 to 100 parts by mass of a mineral filler with 20% by mass water content and a temperature at which dehydration starts of 300°C or higher; and (E)10 to 100 parts per mass of a glass fiber reinforcing agent.
