PURPOSE: A short detection apparatus of an LCD backlight panel is provided to detect a short in a display panel, thereby easily distinguishing malfunction of a manufactured product due to the short generated when assembling an LED array with the panel by instantly blocking a driving circuit function of the LED array. CONSTITUTION: A short detection part(30) is comprised of a first comparator(31) and a second comparator(32). The first comparator connects a reference voltage supply part(40) to an inversion terminal. A detected voltage distribution part(20) is connected to a non-inversion terminal. A short state is detected when abnormal voltage of an LED array(10) is equal to reference voltage or greater. The second comparator connects the reference voltage supply part to the non-inversion terminal. The detected voltage distribution part is connected to the inversion terminal. The short state is detected when the abnormal voltage of the LED array is equal to the reference voltage or less. A diode(33,34) is connected to an output terminal of the first comparator and second comparator in order to stabilize output voltage.
