The disclosed electrical contact material is highly resistant to welding and wear and exhibits excellent temperature performance. Said electrical contact material (31) contains, by mass, more than 30% and no more than 55% tungsten carbide and between 2% and 5% graphite, with the remainder containing silver and unavoidable impurities. Said electrical contact material has a relative density of at least 98.0%, an oxygen content of no more than 450 ppm, a conductivity of at least 45% IACS, and a transverse rupture strength of at least 350 MPa.
