The invention relates to the electromagnetic radiation semiconductor converters. According to a first aspect, a photo-converting part of the electromagnetic radiation converter is proposed, comprising a sequence of semiconductor layers forming with each other a sequence of homogeneous junctions of increasing depth, said sequence comprising more than one different-type junctions. According to a second aspect, a photo-converting part of an electromagnetic radiation converter is proposed, comprising a sequence of semiconductor layers forming with each other a sequence of homogeneous junctions of increasing depth, said sequence comprising more than one different-type junctions with at least some of said layers of the same conductivity type being switched in parallel. Also disclosed is an electromagnetic radiation converter comprising at least M ‰¥ 1 photo-converting parts and current-collecting electrodes, wherein at least one af M photo-converting parts comprises a sequence of switched semiconductor layers forming with each other a sequence of homogeneous junctions of increasing depth, said sequence comprising more than one different-type junctions. As a result, the problem is solved of providing high-efficient wideband electromagnetic radiation converters with a high conversion efficiency in a wide range of EMR waves and intensities from IR to UV. |
