The device has a source of light (10) for emitting a directed light beam, a unit for adjusting the direction of the light beam and an associated controller. A reflection body (20,21) is assigned to a storage location (30,32). A controller controls the unit for marking the storage location in such a manner that the directed light beam hits on the reflection body. An independent claim is also included for a method for marking storage location.
